I am Vicky Schumann, a student studying at the ANU in Canberra. One day I’d like to break into the animtion industry and add my slice to the animations being produced in Australia. Because let’s be honest, as awesome as Happy Feet was we want to see more coming out of this country.

This is where it all starts. Hopefully this blog will enable me to meet a bunch of characters like myself, with similar goals. Possibly exchange ideas and commentary to help improve each other. VSchumann Productions is what I’ve decided to work under, aiming at promoting myself and my short pieces.

Personally I am a concoction, rather like a Long Island iced tea. While working in the animation industry is what I aspire to I haven’t put all my eggs in one basket. At Uni I am specialising in animation, my dream, and computer music, a rather esoteric subject that I doubt I will take any further after leaving Uni but that has definitely widened my “language” skills.

I currently work in web services for one of the Departments in the public service. I also dabble in web design outside work. I have just finished constructing a website for a friend of mine that features her works. It would be great to get feedback on the design and functionality of the website.

At the moment I haven’t had any huge achievements but rather am focusing on a few short pieces in the areas of web design, computer, image manipulation and 3D animation. These short pieces are basically minor assignments that I will post in attempt, like others, to get noticed.

If all goes well I am hoping to study at the Acacdemy of Interactive Entertainment in either Melbourne or Canberra after graduation and really hone in on my animation skills.
